Topup Vouchers

Over the Christmas break the team here at PioneerX Estates have been working on some of the things that you have wanted to see on our website. The biggest of these changes is the introduction of the Topup Vouchers. These are vouchers that can be purchased in various ways and used to Topup your PXE account (much like you would topup a mobile phone).

Topup vouchers are initially available if you have a PayPal account or via credit card, but we will add different payment vendors after the initial release. These vouchers have been introduced to allow customers to use there PXE account without the need to a SecondLife avatar or to transfer money into SecondLife to pay an ATM.

So you have a few questions, well if we have not answered them below then please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to give you more info.

What is a Topup Voucher?
Much like other PXE vouchers a Topup Voucher is a code loaded with a specific amount of L$ currency. The code is unique and can only be used once, however can be used on either a PXE account or in SecondLife at a PXE ATM to get L$ from your voucher.

What sizes can I buy vouchers?
Much like mobile phone topups our Topup Vouchers come in fixed sizes. This initial release has….

Where do I buy Topup Vouchers?
When signed in to your PXE account via the 'My Account' section fo the PXE website you select the 'Account Manager' module. Just below your statement is a button that looks like a Dollar bill with some coins stacked on it. This button is the Topup button and will take you to the purchase section.

How many L$ is my Topup Voucher worth?
At the time of purchase the very latest exchange rates are shown on the page. These rates are INCLUSIVE of all fees. So for example if the rate is $1 to 245 PXE-L$ then purchasing a $10 Topup Voucher will issue you a unique voucher code loaded with 2450 PXE-L$.

Where do I put the Voucher Code?
If you wish to Topup your PXE account with the voucher then in the ‘Account Manager’ module you will find a ‘Vocuhers’ button. In the Vouchers Module there is a ‘Claim’ option, simply place the voucher code in the box and click the ‘Claim’ button.
If you wish to place the money in your SecondLife avatars account then locate a PXE-ATM and click on it. The ATM will offer you the option to ‘Claim a voucher’, when selected it will ask you to put the voucher code in the chat screen and ‘say’ it. At this point the L$ will be transferred from the voucher to your avatar.

Can anyone claim my voucher?
To make things more flexible for our customers we do not place restrictions on the person claiming the voucher code therefore vouchers can be purchased and given to people as gifts. Using a PXE-ATM ANY SecondLife avatar can claim a voucher if they have the correct code.

Is my Topup Voucher secure?
The codes our vouchers use are NOT mathematically generated and contain over 1099 million combinations. As a result they are extremely secure and can not be guessed or faked. In addition any single code is only ever used ONCE.

While some of the enhancements are still in development and for release in our first 2010 update we have been asked by some customers to release certain features early. As a result the following enhancements have been made available now…..

Preloaded RAW file selection
This is a change to the ‘Terrain’ module of our ‘Region Manager’ and allows for customers to select from a list of predefined terrain profiles and have the PXE-RCI load this to their region automatically.

Upload RAW files
This is also a change to the ‘Terrain’ module and allows for customers to upload a RAW file to our system and have the PXE-RCI load this to their region automatically. All files uploaded via the ‘Terrain’ module are automatically made available in the ‘Preloaded’ list for the customer who uploaded them. This means if you have several regions and wish to use the same terrain file on each you only need upload it a single time. Although any file you upload will be made available to you in the ‘Preloaded’ list these files are ONLY listed for the customer that uploaded them. To make the available for public use a ticket must be submitted and the file vetted by PXE staff.

As an organisation we have brought in a level of cover during the vacation time, however this cover does not have the same response levels or extreme level of technical knowledge of the support staff your use to talking to. As a result some support will be affected during the following times……

Monday 14th September 2009 to Monday 28th September 2009

In-World Support
Currently a member of staff will be in-world as ‘James Beejay’ or ‘Erica Beejay’ for between 4 to 8 hours a day to answer support IM’s and general queries. For the given time there will be staff in-world only on an adhoc basis. As OpenSim does not yet support IM to email any IM’s send to James or Erica will NOT be forwarded to the support staff. Ticket Support
Ticket response times are generally within 24hours currently, but are more often than not much faster. During this time ticket response will be within 48hours.

Server Monitoring and Crash Detection
These systems are automatic and while they do take a little monitoring to make sure they keep running as they should they rarely need support staff to take care of them. As such these should be unaffected.

The members of staff you normally interact with, those responsible for the avatars James & Erica have been supplied remote access facilities during the vacation time and will do some of the major support requirements when time allows.

Vouchers are unique one-time use codes that you can create from your PXE account and load with as little or as much L$ as you like. These codes can be claimed in many ways for different purposes.

Give the code to someone else. They can then use the code either on there own PXE Account to load L$ from your account to theirs or use a SecondLife ATM to claim the voucher directly in L$ to there avatar.

Claim the code yourself. The purpose here is to either covert your PXE balance back into SecondLife L$ by creating a voucher and using an ATM to claim it yourself, or to covert to another OpenSim currency by claiming the voucher at an ATM in the relevant grid.

Vouchers is the first step in our other currency bridges. The idea behind these is that you can use a payment method such as Paypal to buy vouchers of certain values and then claim them into either your PXE account directly or into another virtual world currency.
